I feel like every other breakup song consists mostly of the man whining about how unfair his life is and how much it sucks and how much pain he's in because he got dumped. But this song isn't like that. Sure the guy does say that it hurts him, but then he forgets about himself and worries about his girl being taken care of. He cares about her instead of throwing a pity party for himself. And he even admits that he could have done a better job. He says "If I'd been true, I know she'd never be with you." He takes responsibility for his mistakes and he puts her needs in front of his own and that's why I love this song.
