Becky: Rose, why can't I just have everything I want?

Me: Because if you had everything you wanted, the things would mean nothing at all to you.

Becky: Ok, but I just wish I at least had the chance to have anything I wanted.

Me:...You do. You do have the chance to get anything you want to.

While it's probably easier said than done in Becky's case (she wants to marry Niall Horran), I wholeheartedly believe it. As long as you're alive, you have the chance to do anything. I told Becky that if she really wanted to, she could meet Niall Horran (tons of creepy stalker fans already do it...just kidding). And then Becky said that that's pretty much what the American Dream is; if you work hard enough, you can get what you want. Then yah, sure. I guess I do believe in the American Dream. 

I can't have everything I want, but I have the chance to go get whatever I want...
