a zombie cult.

The Kill Order by James Dashner had a weird summary that didn't even mention one of the main characters, Alec. So here is the summary, taken straight from the book:

Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the earth and mankind fell to disease. Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees. Mark and Trina are convinced there’s a way to save those left living from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it—if they can stay alive. Because in this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive.

There are so many things the summary doesn't mention that it should. Like the whole plot of the story! And Trina isn't really as important a character as Alec and it doesn't even mention him! I really thought that maybe they printed the wrong book in the wrong cover. If I wrote the summary I would say:

Before the maze, right after the sun flares, Mark's village in the mountains get's ambushed and many people die an awful death. No one knows who did it or why. All they know is that the attackers spread a highly contagious virus and as it spreads it becomes more unpredictable. Mark and his companions set out to find the answers, although along the way he gets separated from the majority of his group and him and a former soldier, Alec, go to find their friends.

This prequel to The Maze Runner series was good. I didn't like how it never directly related to the characters in The Maze Runner series. Like the main character in this book wasn't Thomas's grandpa or something. And the book didn't really cover a lot of events. It was good but didn't make much sense.
